This building is owned by the Christchurch City Council but
run by a
management committee consisting of regular users of the hall. All
enquiries are to be addressed to: Christoph Hensch or Alison Elmes.
Hall hire description:
The St Albans Community Resource Centre is a multi-use
facility available for hire by the community. It includes:
- Knightstown Room approx. 12 metres x 8 metres. It
has seating for 80 people, heating and a large wooden floor for dancing.
- John Wardle Room approx. 12 metres x 7 metres with
comfortable seating, heating and a Pool table.
Equipment available
- Pool table, 8 trestles, 80 chairs, 2 white
boards, TV, Video, fitness mats.
- The kitchen has
a zip water heater for tea/coffee making, oven, microwave, two sink
units, dishwasher and fridge.
- A telephone is
available for emergency use only.
Parking
- A dedicated carpark is available at the back of
the
building, accessible via 124-128 Caledonian Rd. Limited car parking is
also available as street parking in front of the Community Centre -
1047 Colombo St..
- Parking for the disabled is
available up the driveway with ramp access at the back of the building.

- St Albans Community Resource Centre is open
Mon-Fri
from
10am-3pm, on Saturday only the NeighbourNet room is open from 1pm-3pm.
The centre can however be booked at other times, too (please see our
Events
section).

Cafe
- The Youth Cafe at the St Albans Community
Resource Centre -
1047 Colombo St will be open every Thursday from 7.15pm-9.15pm and is
available to young people from 11-16 years old. (This programme is currently inactive.)
Charges
Our charges are here:
- Community groups: $10/hour
- Commercial
groups/Activities: $15/hour
- Private Function:
$30/hour for full facility
- Daily Hire Rate

- Above rates are GST inclusive and a
refundable key deposit of $20 is payable
- Conditions

Private
Function Policy
Parental supervision required for 18th or 21st Birthday
parties. No
disco or band music allowed. Ideally suited for private functions such
as quiet 40th or 50th dinner parties. Up to 100 people.
General rules are:
- No smoking
- No selling of
alcohol
- Alcohol limited to beer and wine; no
spirits
- Noise restriction for consideration to
neighbours
- The Christchurch City Council requires
all facilities to be vacated by 11 pm.
- Cleaning
up can be arranged for Sunday morning as long as it
is finished before 10am as another group uses the building at that time
Fees payable in advance:
- $25 per hour for use of whole Centre
- $150
bond which might be partially lost dependant on damage incurred or
unsatisfactory cleaning
- Key bond of $20 paid with
issue of key and refundable when key is returned
- Total
fee payable in advance for 6 hours hire - $320 cash
- To
be confirmed at least 2 weeks before event with $50
booking fee. This will be non-refundable if event has not taken place
and booking was not cancelled at least 5 days before event.
The SARA committee meet on the third Tuesday of the month at
7.30 pm in the St Albans Community Resource Centre.
Members
of the Public are welcome to attend and participate.
