St Albans Residents' Association

The building is owned by the Christchurch City Council but run by a governance board consisting of community members and regular users of the hall.

We are an Incorporated Society which contains the following six objectives:

  1. To actively promote and maintain the interests of the full diversity of the residents of St Albans.
  2. To facilitate communication, education and participation of the residents of St Albans in any local issue which may affect the suburb by providing a readily accessible facility for the exchange and flow of information.
  3. To encourage activity that promotes the social wellbeing of residents living in St Albans by providing a readily accessible place in which these activities may take place.
  4. To rejuvenate the enthusiasm for participation in community affairs by maintaining a readily accessible Centre for residents and community groups to meet.
  5. To foster a sense of self learning and empowerment by providing a space to encourage participation in a variety of such activities.
  6. To do all such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.

The intention of the Residents' Association is to play a part in the development of a vibrant and healthy community brought about by involvement and empowerment of its residents through the activities of the committee and the Community Facilitator.

The Residents' Association board meets on the forth Thursday of the month at 7.00 pm in the St Albans Community Centre, except for December. Members of the Public are welcome to attend and participate. For the exact dates of the meetings, please consult this calendar.

The day to day activities of SARA and the Centre are managed by:
